Your Advice Please

Hi Psycho's,

Following a tongue in cheek comment from @nefilim about upgrading my tech, I've been giving it some thought, so looking for all of your input & opinions!

  • If 4K is region free, should I still seek to purchase a multi region player?
  • What is the best 3D & 4K (& potentially multi region) player on the market?
  • Is a curved TV really that much better?
  • Is it a case of the bigger the better when it comes to screen size?
  • What is your preferred manufacturer for a 3D/4K set up? (Sony/Panasonic etc.)
  • With tech constantly improving, Is it more cost efficient to rent rather than purchase?
  • Any other advice?

  • If 4K is region free, should I still seek to purchase a multi region player? Totally up to you. Do you 3D player now and if no do you want one : reason to upgrade.
  • What is the best 3D & 4K (& potentially multi region) player on the market? Oppo is IMO the best brand  of multiregion players. Not cheap but excellent.
  • Is a curved TV really that much better? No idea, never seen one in action.
  • Is it a case of the bigger the better when it comes to screen size? Yep - to certain point. No use buying small 4K tv.
  • What is your preferred manufacturer for a 3D/4K set up? (Sony/Panasonic etc.) I have LG tv and love it. Blu-ray player Samsung
  • With tech constantly improving, Is it more cost efficient to rent rather than purchase? Never thought of renting. Never will. Wanna own my gear.
  • Any other advice? Search information - so much availabe online, reviews and such, ask and compare.

I'm not tech guru. These are from my own experiences.

Thanks Nef,

I don't currently own a 3D set up, but my parents do. I've been hi-jacking their set up when they're on hols and enjoying it tremendously. The point being that if I now upgrade to 3D (whilst it's still on the market) then I may as well go the whole 4K route while I am at it.

I don't think a curved TV is probably necessary, and that should help to keep the cost down.

Thanks for your input! ???
