We have partnered with CP licenses to produce collectible steelbooks at a much lower price point, without including the movie discs. As an exclusive steelbook company, our goal is to always provide amazing designs and high-quality products for every movie steelbook, and we are excited to expand our collection with this new product line.

 

Unlike Homevideo Steelbooks, some movies may not have sufficient materials to work with, so not every release will be available in this product lineup. Additionally, we will only work on movies for which we can guarantee the quality of materials.

 

We understand that this concept may be new to our collectors, but we hope to receive the same support for our new lineup as we do for our existing products.

Interested to see what they do with this line! Especially when you can get a lot of the discs for pretty cheap in the US, I care more about the slips/steel art/booklets.

Think I like the discless concept but it largely depends. I have been bummed about my Best Buy steelbook of this film ever since I bought it… here is my solution. 
 

Wonder what pricing will be like though. That’s going to be a big deciding factor. I could easily see upgrading some of my Amarays with these

But it’s like a normal release but without the disc which you can pick up easily. So they’re essentially passing the saving to the collector.

Good point - I just assumed that it was just the discs missing, and that the usual slip/extras would remain intact.

Sounds like just a Discless Steelbook to me.

This will be like the regular Manta Lab Series, so Slips, OC but without the Disc. I'm wondering about the price, at this point they wrote "steelbooks at a much lower price point" how much do they thing is much lower 😅? For me it would be 15-20$ to qualify as "much lower". $30+ for singles and below $100 for a OC would certainly be interesting, we shall see what they have in store for us after more details to this first edition are out.

 

I'm not that thrilled that the beginning of the line is a movie we already had in the ME line, so hopefully they don't just rerelease everything that came before.

Agreed.  I hope they aren’t just milking the licenses they already have.  I have the ME release and have no desire for this one.  But I can see this being a good option for those who want to upgrade multi-retailer steels, if the price is right.

I love this idea from manta. I wish all premiums were discless. Saves a lot of money and hopefully they can release stuff faster this way

Honestly don’t know how to feel about this. Feels like a cash grab if they’re gonna just release discless versions of previous releases. They say another one will go for preorder next month, we’ll see what that title will be. I’d only potentially be interested if they go for films they haven’t done before

Interesting release but I kind of wish that Manta didn’t go the route of doing a release for a movie they just done last year via their ME line. I think it’d be cool if we could have got maybe “updated” designs for the more older ME releases.
