Hello from Oklahoma

I am Gandybar and I am excited to be a part of this community. 

I am from Oklahoma in a little tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Here on the prairie, we don't have a lot of movie theaters or even particularly stable internet. When I met my now wife, we got into movie collecting almost out of necessity. We both loved movies and we couldn't really get to the theaters all that often, so we just started hoarding blu-rays. As I started getting more and more into collecting, I joined various communities on Reddit. That is how I found out that this place existed. I thought it looked like a good bunch of folks, so I joined. 

My avatar is Cooper from Twin Peaks, I got my wife the Twin Peaks Z to A box set last Christmas, and so we are totally obsessed with it right now. 

I recently started a Letterboxd to help track my movie-watching habit, and that is going well. If you want a Letterboxd pal, I am Gandybars. Right now I am working on watching a movie from every year and a movie from every country by the end of the year. I am super excited to hang out with everyone, and I hope yall have a wonderful evening.

Have you seen Death Wish (1974), one of my fav of all-time which deserves a 4K steelbook Premium pronto, you can never go wrong with a Bronson film 🎬

 

I’m also on Letterboxd as jwales except I haven’t frequented it much lately.

 

 I’m a collector too that started w/Best Buy/Target exclusives that really got me into the Premium editions (I started way back though  & gradually upgraded from VHS to DVD to BD to 4K oh my 🤣). then I was fortunate to find out about this terrific forum MP from another forum I followed & MP took over my #1 place since March ‘19 hey 👋
