Right last while with covid dragging cinemas down to virtually nothing got me wondering, with covid slightly backing off and cinemas trying to get going again properly.

what films peak your interest that you would consider going to see on the big screen?

below is a list of films from uk cinema chain upto end of 2022, i havent gone further than that as odds are dates will shift again maybe?

i will add a poll as well to see if you could all register your votes of ONLY films you will go and see in the cinema and NOT ones you will just buy for home use.

i will tag a few to get this started off

@Benoit46 @extantsrevenge @Robertm89 @Pbsw23 @deckard99 @RileyLad @R1s1ngs0n @Hollywood E Rock @Trianna @ukade2327 @icewire

@blu.steel33 @Scary Hair @ksosk @Masterblaster @cypheria078 @LeGonze @Count Dantes @DParadigm @raylight @Catgirl @Cornbuster @CAYENNE-FAHRER @GANTZ @Hecko @Fortis93 @bilbon @Veum @JiumJium @hal56 @swish @Sephiroth @pluto57 @Rockntoni87 @Ripper

and if you dont feel safe with covid or other reasons please post as say so and tells us what would have to change in your eyes to return back to the cinema👍

i personally may go back for the biggest films but i would still be wrapped up in a face mask so far i have not and was wondering what your feelings are on the subject????

also @Benoit46 you seen death on the nile and who is in that? xD

all the best

basil 👍

Yeah, I'm similar to you.

I'll only go for large-scale films that absolutely demand the big-screen, theatrical experience.

But, even then, I'd probably be more selective than ever not only due to COVID, but also due to how expensive it is (or has gotten) here.

I probably am a bit hesitant at the moment (we've just come out of lockdown), but if I am going, I'll still be wearing a mask despite being fully vaccinated.

only ones I’d really like to watch in cinema are Spiderman, doctor strange and avatar 2. I prefer watching films at home plus partner isn’t big on films in general so be hard sell to get her to cinema for any marvel film. The way the cases are rising over here be interesting to see what measures they put in place definitely see thing’s changing again sadly.

I went back to the cinema at the beginning of this year to see "promising young woman" and since then I have seen 7 other films including the last one james bond , I think I'm back to my usual habits as I like to see certain films in the cinema before seeing them again at home, the next one I'm thinking of going to see is "Venom let there be carnage" I can't wait to see Woody Harrelson's performance as cletus kasady and as carnage 😃

I meet up with some close friends every Christmas for drinks, meal and watch the newest star wars film in the cinema together. Since Disney have put a stop to that now we will be watching the new Matrix film this time around.

I will also be taking my kids to see the new Ghostbusters afterlife film. Both of them love the original films and hopefully this one will be a lot better than the last Sony remake.

Not too worried about covid as the restrictions are quite good from my last experience and I'm double jabbed. Kids have got more chance picking it up from school than in the cinema

Other films I'd like to catch are Dune, The Batman and Top gun

I basically only go to the cinema for MCU these day. In fact collecting premiums was probably the point at which I reduced my cinema visits. I’m going to the cinema for the first time post COVID this Friday to watch Venom. I had planned to see Shang Chi but not sure it will still be showing.

I’ve personally reached the point now whereby normality has to resume. I’ve ditched the face mask and I am working back in the office 2/3 days a week which is in the city centre. I’ve been out for a couple of nice group meals and am going out this Friday to both the cinema and the pub. I’m not being reckless, I am double jabbed and I still regularly anti-bac and wash my hands etc. but enough is enough. I can’t believe it’s going to be Christmas again soon and how little I have seen so many friends in all of this time.

I missed Black Widow and Shang-Chi due to Covid. First MOvie I went back to see in the Cinema was Dune and then No Time to Die (could not miss these two). I plan to see the new Halloween and after that it looks like it will mostly be Superheroes. Eternals, Spider-Man 3, Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4 are a must. I will also go see Ghostbusters and Matrix 4.

From the next cycle it will be Jurassic World 3, Black Panther 2, The Flash, Aquaman 2 and Avatar 2 and most likely Halloween Ends.

All depends on the situattion and if I get english showings.

I specifically did not choose The Batman, because I'm not sure if I want to see it in cinema. Normally I have to, I saw every Batman movie in cinema, but Pattinson sucks.

I had just seen Dune in cinema again. Since it's a really small cinema, they could make sure that you had nearly a row to yourself and could take off the mask once you're seated. Really more than enough space between the rows and others.

I'm not really excited for any of the movies from June-Dec 2022 but I had to choose one to submit anything 😅

I also would like to see "Last Night in Soho" in cinema.

I love going to the movies. For me it's a moment to enjoy, and, at the same time, a gesture. Maybe some will say that it's not a very trendy opinion today, but honestly, I don't care. I love being in a big dark room with strangers watching a movie on a huge screen. Yes, it is a gesture, and an experience.

Now that strategists spend eons thinking about how to design experiences, this already is, and it's there.

Movies to laugh, movies to admire, movies to think about, movies to let yourself be surprised, movies to go back, movies to discover, to reflect on, to shock you; movies to move you, to inspire you, movies to be in tension, or screaming movies; a crowded weekend, just one rainy night a week when no one is around, or the expectation and energy in the air the day of a big premiere.

Sometimes with friends, sometimes alone, and sometimes with someone spontaneous. Your life through the people who accompanied you to the movies, and the movies you saw. With successes and mistakes, both ways.

For me, the first and best option is to go to the movies. If the movie motivates me enough, I buy it. And when the schedule or circumstances don't allow me to go to the movies, I can buy it after seeing it at home, and feel that motivation, but other times ... I let myself go and buy it blind. Sometimes it is fun.

My most desired releases in theaters for these last four months of 2021:

  • Dune (Denis Villeneuve). Almost done I'll go today night,.... someone wants to come? ;)
  • Cry Macho (Clint Eastwood). Done
  • No time to die (Cary Joji Fukunaga) Done
  • Annette (Leos Carax) Done
  • The french dispatch (Wes Anderson)
  • The last duel (Ridley Scott)
  • Last night in Soho (Edgar Wright)
  • House of Gucci (Ridley Scott)
  • Benedetta (Paul Verhoeven) Done
  • One second (Zhang Yimou)
  • Titane (Julia Ducournau) Done
  • Licorice Pizza (Paul Thomas Anderson)
  • Bergman Island (Mia Hansen-Love)
  • West Side Story (Steven Spielberg)
  • Matrix 4 (Lana Wachowski)

And aditionally I've also already seen:

  • Venom: let there be carnage. (Andy Serkis)
  • The Addams Family 2 (Greg Tiernan & Conrad Vernon)

And for 2022... I have in my agenda's draft:

  • Mission Impossible 7 (Christopher McQuarrie)
  • Memoria (Apichatpong Weerasethakul)
  • Top Gun: Maverick (Joseph Kosinski)
  • John Wick 4 (Chad Stahelski)
  • Elvis (Baz Luhrmann)
  • Canterbury Glass (David O. Rusell)

And also there will be a lot more. For sure.

  • 2 months later...

Last movie i watched in cinema was Venom 2. Before that Avengers Endgame 4x.

Going into cinema with covid situation and where ppl don't have masks on, eat and drop popcorn and coca cola on floor is shitty experience.

I have mine Atmos home theater at home so why pay for terrible experience when i can enjoy those movies at home.

The only thing i mis is Kaleidescape. If only that wouldn't be limited to those few countries.
