Venom: Let There Be Carnage (4K UHD/2D Blu-ray Steelbook) (Only @ Best Buy) [USA]

Just a guess, but I think they were attempting to recreate something akin to the "Venom" Steel that received good response;

Sadly, I'd suggest it misses the mark as the simplicity of the design and the cute incorporation of the title within Venom's jaw sinews, was totally missed.

I don't know if "POP Art" are responsible ( they don't have the best track record), or whomever but perhaps not allowing grade 9 Students to submit their drawing suggestions would be a noble start to selecting cover artwork. Just a suggestion...😉

I mean better, sure. There's always space and time for improvement, but considering this is WWA i expected something like this. I just think both Venom and Carnage should instantl pop out, but here they're like hiding in background/are mixed into all this artwork.

Either way, i'm buying it regardless. I just hope it'll come without visible dents to outside since i'll leave it factory sealed.

Regarding group buy, when is it possible to do it and if item comes damaged to outside - dents, scratches or damage to case, do they return it or do you still get it?

Our hubs check and replace any damaged editions (if stock is still available) before sending them out. So while nothing is ever 100% guaranteed they do their best and I personally have never had an issue.

^^ I'm confident our wonderful friend @deckard99 will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe incurred damage is also dependent on source, whether or not MP can procure a new copy.

If it comes from a Premium Retailer with whom MP have strong relations, then I'm confident they'll do what they can to secure an undamaged copy.

However, if it comes from a sale, at a dealership like Best Buy, Target, Walmart and the like they can only do what any other person can do on an individual basis and ident the damage to source and await response whether or not it's sufficient to replace.

Obviously, any damage that is not um, obvious, there's little (or nothing) they can do (i.e. dents, scratches beneath a J-Card, any damage to internal materials, etc...).

Also, such mass market retailers care nothing for the OCD of us Collectors. If the discs play, they sometimes will simply pass it over.

Folks need to be aware, that MP receives no preferential treatment from these mass market retailers and one is always going to be taking a gamble ordering from them. Be it direct or via MP. 😐

Yes I was referring to mass market retailers like Best Buy, Zavvi, etc. where the local hub will order copies and  add screen them as best as possible before forwarding them on.

Um, I think that was a compliment, @ShadowWarrior, I'm not fully up to speed on latest hyperbole memes but I'll take it as one. 😀

When in the '80s, Tod McFarlane brought Venom into Amazing Spidey comics (issue #298 btw), my daughter and I instantly got hooked on the villain and both considered him the best foil to Spidey since the Silver Age Green Goblin (though of the Goblins, she preferred Hobgoblin, heh) .

(Um, I also happen to own a VF copy of Gobby's 1st appearance in Amz Spidey #14, heh)

We bought the comics, the cards, the action figs etc that soon deluged the market as he became the darling of many it seemed.

Like any character though, keeping up with his outings became a trial and we moved on, though always keeping an eye for those "special items" that were released sporadically.

Of course, when the Film came out, I had to perform due diligence and purchased a copy of every ed released and I mean every ed.

To the extent it almost rivals @deckard99 Blade Runner collection...😉

No, it wasn't the greatest film but it did have charm and reinvigorated some lost nostalgia for me, though I think remembering the times my daughter and I would gush over new acquisitions, was more considered than the actual character.

I doubt I'll go as bat-scat crazy for this second outing but Carnage was a very important character in the Spidey-verse as well and was much beloved by both of us.
I've yet to see more than the occasional trailer for this new film but it looks to be mindless fun, which is all I need from a pair of homicidal comic characters.

I'll no doubt purchase the subject Steel and probably whatever Premiums come to pass.

There's certainly been a number of films released lately that I won't be concerned spending coin on, so I think that indulgence on one crazy flik is gonna be worth the effort.

Of course for most, YMMV in this regard.

🙂

Hey my good friend @Grendel that is so neat you and your daughter bonded over Venom… when I was collecting comics I never got down into the comic-world as you did, I collected the main characters Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Hulk & the occasional The Lone Ranger/Zorro. 👦

However now, I am more interested/intrigued with Venom after seeing the 1st film & enjoying it tremendously! :)

I’m really looking forward to the 2nd film Carnage and will want to get the “best” Premiums of this film, especially my Lentis… I did get the VENOM FAC white OC version, the BF OC with added steelbook and they are terrific!! 🤩

The problem with me is I do not have that enjoyable adventure in going to the theatres anymore 😔 and will have to wait until it comes out on physical copy! 🙌

Amazingly, Best Buy Canada got this in (on a very squeaky tight window) so placed an order.

I have an English friend keeping tabs for the chance a re-stock of the Zavvi slipped one comes back in stock but no worries as I'm confident we'll see a few Premiums for it, whether the film is great, good or meh...😉

My buddy @Grendel I’m just not sure I like this cover!!?? 🧐
