USA: "Mad Max 2 on Ultra HD Blu-ray with sound problems - UPDATE

 

In the USA, "Mad Max 2 - The Executor" (Australia 1982) has already been released on Ultra HD Blu-ray and the first buyers report problems with the English Dolby Atmos mix, which changes or misses many sound effects . In addition, the 5.1 and 2.0 audio tracks are also based on this faulty mix. Bill Hunt of thedigitalbits.com has confirmed the sound problems and has already contacted Warner Home Video. Those in charge will soon announce plans for corrected replacement discs.

 

"Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has taken immediate steps to correct the unintentional audio file error on Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior and Mad Max Anthology 4K UHD products. The company has recalled all inventory currently in stores and the manufacturing of new discs has begun. Replacement discs will be made available for consumers who purchased the affected product. Due to concurrent supply chain delays, replacement product will become available in mid-January. For more information and to receive a replacement disc, please contact customer support at WHV@warnerbros.com."

Yes I believe it does, I got the same email from Zavvi as @Fortis93 did above.

Arrived this past week and in perfect condition!  Zavvi shipped in a nice thick box, and there are zero scratches on any of the steelbooks.  Can't say the same about the Harry Potter ones previously received.  There is still hope for Warner Brothers releases after all.

Same story for me, big issues with HP (micro scratches on the backs of the steelbooks) but Mad Max arrived in perfect condition 🙂
