I see that Best Buy have a new 4K Steel coming up for purchase but in my own estimation, THIS Nova ed is the definitive, end of purchasing edition for me.

Elected to purchase both the FS and Lenti 'cause I could.

Haven't spun any of the discs up yet but hoping to with a couple Buddies this Friday night.  🥰

@Grendel let us know what you thought of the film 🎥;)

I don't plan on opening mine. I have the original final cut 4k set for that.
You and friends are in for a treat. This is one of my top 10 4k catalogue titles that I own.

My thoughts on Apocalypse Now?

You got a couple hours?

I could easily write an entire dissertation on this film but suffice it to say, I very much enjoyed every aspect of it.

Were I to suggest any parts were a bit of a let down, I think it would be regarding Marlon Brando's performance.

He was a certified egomaniac by this stage of his career and had no qualms of letting people know his disinterest.

I give enormous accolades to Coppola and the 3 film editors;

Lisa Fruchtman, Gerry Greenberg and Walt Murch for their astounding efforts putting his performance ( and the entire production) into a semblance of order. 👍

The rest, I think is almost flawless.

I was still in the Military at the time of release and 'Nam itself was still a topic of many conversations, so the film was the subject of many long talks.

Few, were negative. 😉

  edit: if I gave anyone the suggestion I have yet to see it, heh, no, I've watched it many times, I was simply refering to the PQ/AQ of this release. 😉

Definitely some of the more beautiful premiums out there. NM have really stepped up their game recently, hope they continue with the type of selection they've been putting out.

Seriously. It’s almost becoming an automatic buy when they have a new set. They choose interesting movies too. I’d say they probably deserve the designation Titans of Cult more than TOC.
