I’m just guessing, but the reason is probably because it’s a WEA steel book that will have 6 disc. Two of them being 4K discs, & 4K always runs the costs up.

Looks AWESOME!! - any shot it may include Hearts of Darkness in 4K as well (if that is possible) - which would actually make it even MORE EXCLUSIVE since that hasn't been released yet in 4K!!! (not actually sure it will be, though:  anyone?? @ksosk.  Though I guess the imminence of this release would probably prevent that.

I entirely agree - could be the price for both editions...

I have bought the LOTR-Box with 9 (!) 4K-UHDs for 50 Dollar this week. So the discs are no reason for 100 Dollar (for me at least).

The price seems more appropriate for a one click that includes both editions, than for a single one. Hopefully it's a mistake from Novamedia, it's not usual for them to set such high prices.

 

It's evident that being six discs it has to be somewhat more expensive than usual in them, but not so much. The original six-disc edition worldwide was not much more expensive than the regular 2-discs edition.

on the one hand I find the editions successful and it is for me a classic that deserves a nice premium 
but on the other hand the price for a single edition is also rather prohibitive 

I agree with my comrades, 100$ for 6 discs does not justify this price 

I bought on amazon.com the 40th anniversary edition with the 6 discs, not even 30$ shipping included
quite a dilemma, I'll think about it some more

Nice to see Nova Media didnt cut out the 4k disc! I skipped 1917 because of that... I'm completely fine with older premiums not having the 4k, but nowadays I can't find a justification not to add them. I mean it's a premium release, 1 4k disc wont rise the price by that much, 10€ maybe tops. Many of us will probably buy the 4k after to put it inside the release making it even more expensive.

 

The price on this one is indeed a bit high BUT

The price for this edition is steep no doubt, even if it's partly justified by the inclusion of 6 discs. But some movies are just too essential to pass on and that lenti is 🔥
