That type of design may have worked for any of the BTTF films but certainly not Batman.

I was genuinely excited to see what they'd come up with and while I expected something 'different' I certainly didn't expect this.

Their previous release was arguably their strongest so I had high hopes for this one... truly disappointed 😞

I remember feeling the same way when Fox first released the 4K steelbooks for both Predator and Alien.

 

I can respect artists wanting to do something 'different' or add a new wrinkle to the artwork for these classic catalogue releases, but I think leaning into the aesthetic of the films they're designing the artwork for may be preferable.

I 100% completely agree with you mate.

 

All I want is a Alien steelbook with the original 1979 poster artwork...

 

 

 

 

This is what I grew up with as a kid. Its how I feel the film is best represented.....

 

Even if they used it as rear artwork on the steelbook, I'd settle for that.. .

 

I have high hopes that Hdzeta may one day release a Gold label boxset for Alien. I think they keep their WEA steelbooks quite simple and proberbly would use it.

 

 

 

For now.....Please one day.....someone do it right....

Nothing is sold out, except at zavvi (they almost always only have a few copies on offer).
Just ask a French colleague, he can certainly go to amazon fr. preorder.
Just like in the last time (Covid19 reason) you can only pre-order as a local, at amazon it. just like that too.
