XBox One X

"Microsoft’s next console, codenamed Project Scorpio, will be called Xbox One X, the company said today. It will be out on November 7 worldwide and cost four-hundred-ninety-nine U.S. dollars (aka $500).

The big buzzwords are “True 4K,” and Microsoft is touting Xbox One X’s higher resolution. It’ll support all previous Xbox One games and accessories, and Microsoft says the X will allow current Xbox One games to look better than they do on standard consoles. Speaking on stage during the company’s E3 presser today, Microsoft rattled off a list of hardware specs, telling fans that it will be the “smallest Xbox ever” despite its power.

“This is the system you asked us to build,” the company said.

First-party games as well as recent third-party games like Final Fantasy XV and Ghost Recon Wildlands will get updates on Xbox One X, Microsoft says. “You probably have a large library of titles that you own today that will automatically get better on Xbox One X.”

I dont game enough to have this be a worthwhile upgrade from the One S.  Especially for double the price

I always wait for price drop. And when I have waited long enough I decide that I'll get the next one ... so I'll end up having none, year after year. lol.

Anyway the little I play I play on PC - the best platform IMO.

I have still my regular xbox and I have still not played all the games I have, so no need to upgrade. I also don't play as much anymore as I did in my youth. Can you also play regular xbox games on this or only the ones released for xbox one?

See what Playstaion come up with now that has been announced by X Box .

Although I think the PS4 PRO has the upgraded to 4K visual specification already .

Not quite Ann :

PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X – Graphics

Xbox Scorpio: 6 TFLOPS, 326GB/s, 12GB GDDR5

PS4 Pro: 4.12 TFLOPS, 218 GB/s, 8GB GDDR5

First, let's bust the jargon: TFLOPs stands for trillion floating point operations per second, which is the simplest way of measuring graphical horsepower. GB/s is the bandwidth of that memory, which tells you how quickly the GPU can move frames through the memory and out to your TV or monitor. The more memory, the more high-resolution textures the GPU can access quickly at any one time, increasing performance.

The PS4 Pro possesses 8GB of GDDR5 with an additional 1GB of RAM set aside for handling background processes, while the Xbox One X nets a full 12GB of GDDR5. Both consoles will share their memory between the GPU and CPU, although how much each gets is unknown.

How will this affect gaming?

Technical jargon aside, this difference in graphics power will make a difference when it comes to both consoles' 4K chops. Microsoft is aiming for full, native 4K at 60fps, while not all PS4 Pro games meet that specification. Some games run at 30fps in 4K, while others manage full 60fps performance at full, native 4K. The rest are a combination of games that only run at 30fps in 4K, or ones that render at sub-4K and use clever upscaling techniques to appear to be in 4K.

All Xbox One games will run better on One X, whether or not they've been specifically updated to do so. You'll be able to play One X games at Full HD, too, and you'll get the choice as to whether you want to downscale from Ultra HD resolution for ultra-sharp graphics, or simply run games at 1080p for better performance. This is notably different to the PS4 Pro, which has a habit of hiding these settings from the user unless they've specifically opted to run their console at Full HD only.

Woo boy this sub forum seems kinda dead haha!

I've got an Xbox One X myself. I use it as my 4k Blu-ray player as well (Yea I know the One S does this as well). Going to be picking up Monster Hunter World today and it should be awesome on the X!

If anyone has any questions I'd be up for answering them the best I can.

As Jaferris said, each Xbox is region locked to where it sells...And I don't think there is a way to unlock it unfortunately. But yeah since 4k blurays are region free that hasn't been an issue! Just gotta watch out for those region locked blurays ?
