Well, it's certainly...different, I'll give 'em that.

Different can be cool. This one may be a bit too cool for school, as the art theme gives me more of a '60s vibe than a '30s vibe.

I'll be happy to get it, regardless. 🤩

That's a very good observation. I like the dot/circle motif but I think it would have been more suitable for the early Bond films and spy thrillers of the 60s.

I like it nonetheless and appreciate the unique approach and attention to small details that WCL have been showing with their recent releases.

Wow! That is weird! Don’t like at all...the first I can say that about. I have many and this is the first I regret joining the group buy. Soon as I get it it’s up for sale. Hope they don’t do that “style” in the future. Was really looking forward to a nice premium for this classic film...the wait goes on.

Agree 100%. I didn't want to get attacked for saying something negative about it, so did not. Glad I am not the only one who feels this way.

Also glad I waited this time for beauty shots to sign up as too many I don't like after and don't like getting just to sell. Especially when during our current climate where the wait is REALLY long.
Still waiting for Wild at Heart (paid invoice in April) - just to sell when I get it. Same with Heat, but just paid invoice not too long ago, so might be waiting till next year on that one. Again, just to sell when I get.  I don't think they can ship at the moment to me?

So I am really waiting for beauty shots from now on on these.

Yeah, it's a bit too '60s-looking, but I still really like it.

That being said, there was a revival of 1930s aesthetics in the 1960s. Graphic design of the time was hugely influenced by things like Art Deco and Bauhaus. Just look at Saul Bass--his work is something that epitomises the 1950s and 1960s but is actually much more reminiscent of the aesthetic of a previous era.

It came to me on Thursday.

And I'm going to make a confession: I bought it because I wanted to have a collector's edition of this great movie, and there aren't many options; but I was not enthusiastic about the beauty shot.

However, in the hands I love it, the images are not fair with it.

It's a beautiful edition, very original, and totally adjusted to the film; which I especially like a lot, editions designed "from the film".

All of us at some time -and surely more than once...- have felt some disappointment when having an edition in our hands, because we thought it was more beautiful, and when we touch it, it does not shine as much as in the images. In this case, the opposite happens: it is better than I expected.

I like very much.

My congratulations to the people of WCL for the effort offering us such a "special" edition, so different, and so "sting".

I asked a similar question in the Cry Baby / Serial Mom thread, apology if I ask this again here, but this is the very release that led me to find WCL, this forum, and join it: The Sting here looks absolutely fantastic, and I see on the WCL master list that it is not listed as being sold out. The GB however is closed.

Is there another way to access this release other than scalper central?
