Sorry we normally don't offer GBs for regular scanavo case edition. The problem is that it would not make much sense for only a few copies. Still something we are thinking about.

Slow burn of a movie . Originally watched it for Frank Langella  THE BEST MOST HOT SEXY DRACULA PORTRAYER EVER . 

 

Was left very impressed by everything about the Ninth Gate .

OCCASIONALLY on the Horror Channel my dear UK crew  and well worth a view

I know there's always been a lot of controversy around Polanski regarding his past actions, I have seen his film the pianist which is a really really good film..so if this is as good I'll have to give it a go. Not really too fussed on picking this up though.

i know what you mean .  More so now as Times have changed and voices can and still need to be heard .

 

History I guess will judge in time far more than what we can now .

 

I am not a big follower of his moves . This , The Pianist and Oliver Twist for me are the stand out in that order . I can not split The Ninth Gate Or The Pianist .

 

Problem is it gets in your head and even though you see it you want to re see it and before you know it your hooked its in your collection your skin turns red and you grow horns

Regarding The Ninth Gate specifically, it is uncanny how, if I substitute the frenzy for "certain books" the film focuses on, for Premium Blu-rays, I think a few of us here  could relate to the compulsive habits described... 🤪

( the same could be said of act 3 of "Torture Garden" ( "The Man Who Collected Poe") with Jack Palance and Peter Cushing 🙂)

^^^ Yeah I’m much the same way with, not just Polanski, but w/rock bands, actors, etc., I would not own anything if I went by their actions outside their professions!😉

My Latin is a little rusty but I did take 3 years of it in High-School and so would be frustrating fun to give this a go. 🤔

^^ Long story short, @Scary Hair;

I was raised hard-core Roman Catholic and the prayer book my Grand-Mother bought me was half Latin / half English in order to follow the Roman Mass back then.

I became fascinated by the language and would try to do untrained translations between the pages to decipher the Latin.

When I had the opportunity to take Latin in High-School, I jumped at it (yes, I also took technical courses offered, like Auto / Drafting / Electrical, heh).

 

I actually enjoyed it as we had a really great old codger as a Proff, who would liven the class up by playing some of the old sword and sandal fliks on occasion (16mm film!)

I loved high-school. Great friends, great parties, gorgeous girls...great sports too. 🤗

I acquired the book from a craftshop at etsy. It was years ago (pre-kids era, when I could indulge myself with mundane things like trying to invoke the devil) so I dont remember the name.
