Extended Editions

Depends on the extended edition really

Best extended editions I have seen are first and foremost Aliens. Best extended edition made the film so much more enjoyable. Explained how people got there and what was going on.

Lotr extended editions were awesome. Apart from the return if the king end scenes where they ended every possible outcome for the last 45mins of the film. All in all not bad.

Also like the extended/ final cuts of  blade Runner.

Batman vs superman best version is the extended cut

Lot of poor extended cuts too. Suicide squad I had to look up what the extended bits were, I saw it in the cinema beforelease blue ray.

The LOTR and Hobbit Extended are So much better than the theatrical cut .

Aliens is a Totaly diffrent  better film with tge added sceans .

Gladiator as well for me how it emphasise's the depth of Comodus' s insanity  .

The Chronicles Of Riddick I think is my favourite example of what a difference a short ammout of time can make to a story .

Personally I see it as a marketing ploy more often than not these days. In the old days especially the 80's and 90's studios hated films over 2 hours so they had to be chopped and later you could get what the director wanted on what ever home format.

These days usually there is no need, Suicide Squad could have been releases uncut as it was no longer than some of the Marvel films, same with BvS. The only real modern exception as @Scary Hair has said is LOTR which were much longer and younger attention spans these days are short, but they could have just releases one edition rather than the 6 month wait and then cash grab.

When a movie begins it's ad campaing to possible audience with scenes like this :

Zmb0G.gif.41869643829c56119f5a8a2e3ae31aaf.gif

I am not sold at all.

Not at all.

Movie can be fun. And movies can be sexy. But I do not like my movies stupid. This is not only sexit towards women. But it puts men in position of voyeur. Woman dressing in front of men staring. I know. It's only a movie. I should not take it too seriously. But then again people say : movies are art : movies should be taken seriously.

Movies like SS make other movies look bad. IMO

And to be honest. It's not just that scene. It's full of stupidities. Full of them.

You like it. It's ok.

I don't. It's ok.

Friends ? ? ?

...so what HOT movie for Nef, well for excample these :

  • The Graduate
  • 9 1/2 Weeks
  • Blue Velvet
  • Mulholland Dr.
  • Betty Blue
  • Henry & June

@nefilim you seem a little cultured my friend?.  The scene you mention is sexist but that's what sell's at the moment at least. It was a smallish scene. I wouldn't make me watch a movie for that. I do really like comic book movies. I didn't think it was that bad, maybe not outstanding  but not a bad popcorn movie. Just my opion.

I know it was small scene. But Harley Quinn was shown in the movie very sexist light. She was flirting all the time. Posing all the time. Grew tired of that.

Maybe I'm too old. Probably that. LOL.

But Note. I do not say you are wrong or I'm right. Each to his|her own ! ?

For me it depends on the character and cercumstance . I have not seen Suiside Squad , at all .

I find it hard to watch when the female character is all quivering in a courner leaving it to the man to save the day.

I find Music Videos a bigger problem for finding a female backing dancer who decides to acctuly wear clothing.

A recent one was 5th Harmony "Work " However they managed to get on a bulding site in that ataire hot pants , boob Tube high heals??. NOT a High Visibility Jacket , Hard Hat OR steel Toe Capped Boot in sight  ?? .
