TOM HARDY AS VENOM WTF !!!  I love it !!!

Huge breaking news this Friday afternoon as Deadline is reporting that Sony’s Venom movie is officially happening with Tom Hardy starring as the title character and Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischer directing!

They also note that Venom is from Sony’s Marvel Universe and is not a spinoff but the first movie after Spider-Man from its Marvel Universe of characters. Hardy’s Eddie Brock is able to converse and have a relationship with the symbiote, which culminates to him becoming Venom. In the Marvel Comics universe, Venom has appeared alongside Spider-Man, Iron Man, Deadpool, Hulk, and many other Marvel Comics characters.

The Bride of ‘Venom’ to Appear in the Film!

Even though we’re stuck in a world where nearly every single blockbuster is part of a “universe”, it’s starting to feel as if we’re progressing past the norm and executives are taking bigger and better risks. Logan and Deadpool paved the way with the help of Guardians of the Galaxy, and most recently Wonder Woman. All bets are off and Marvel, especially, is willing to take a risk on anything. What a time to be alive.

This is rubbing off on studios, with Sony Pictures trying something new with Venom, their anti-hero adaptation based on the infamous Spider-Man villain. While it’s already been revealed that Carnage (Cletus Kasady) will be the film’s antagonist, the studio is planning an even bigger surprise…the “Bride of Venom” will also make an appearance, according to the Hashtag Show.

The site is reporting that Venom will see the character Ann Weying turn into She-Venom! In the comics, Weying is Eddie Brock’s (Tom Hardy) ex-wife, who becomes a temporary host for the symbiote.

“Ann was a lawyer in the comics but Sony has not yet committed to her back story for the film,” explains the site. “The studio, working with a new script from Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, is looking to cast an actress in the range of 25-32, so a few years younger than Hardy, to play the role of Ann. In the comics, Ann was shot by one the characters who took the name Sin-Eater, only to have her life saved by the symbiote. It set off a series of events that lead to her depression and suicide.

“It’s unclear what the plot of the film is,” they add, “but we expect the symbiote to be the Ultimate version which was a bio suit co-created by the fathers of Eddie Brock and Peter Parker.”

While not part of the Marvel Comics Universe, Venom will, in fact, be in the same “reality” as the Spider-Man films, which could lead to a crossover in the future. Columbia Pictures’ “R”-rated  Until then, Columbia Pictures’ “R”-rated Venom opens in theaters Oct. 5, 2018.

‘Venom’ Will Draw on the Work of John Carpenter and David Cronenberg!

Thanks to “R”-rated gambles like Logan and Deadpool paying off for Fox, Columbia Pictures is rolling the dice on a long-gestured dark property: Venom, one of the most vicious and brutal of all of Spider-Man’s enemies. When the studio announced that this spinoff would actually happen, the biggest question beyond “how?” was as to its aesthetics. It’s been confirmed a dozen times over now that it will be an “R”-rated affair that, while not part of the Marvel Comics Universe, Venom will, in fact, be in the same “reality” as the Spider-Man films, which could lead to a crossover in the future. Same reality or not, they’re planning on drawing from the works of horror gods.
