I bought a collector's edition blindly, without having seen it, something that I don't usually do ... but sometimes I feel like it, and it was a success. I like to have it in my collection.

Do you mind if I ask where you bought this collector's edition?

This is a favourite of mine as well. xD

I watched Back to The Future in 4K last night for the first time. 4K for the first time, not the movie for the first time. I have to say they did a splendid job with the 4K scan! Looks like it was made last year.

Yep, combine that with a film that's also (to me, anyway) timeless, and you have a winner.

Awesome! I just got Manhunter on steelbook the other day, looking forward to watching it. It’s the only Hannibal film I haven’t seen 😍

Watched The Friends of Eddie Coyle last night, was a slow burn but really enjoyed the dialogue and ability to create so much tension with minimal bloodshed and action and instead relying on a believable storyline and good old fashioned acting. Solid book with the Criterion edition which is always appreciated (since sometimes they can be a couple pages only).

I'd also highly recommend The Nickel Ride if you haven't seen it already as a companion piece to this film.

It's this edition, a collector's edition made in Spain in 2016 by a local distributor called "La Aventura", who has made a few very interesting collector's editions, although thinking more about the content than the goodies. A really limited edition, only 1000 copies, numbered, and where inside is included a certificate from the distributor committing not to make more copies.

Full slip + digipack, 64 pages booklet, with movie on Blu-ray, and 2 DVDs with bonus content:

  • Documentary: Becoming John Ford (93 min).
  • Interview with John Ford, by Philip Jenkinson in 1968 (72 min).
  • Violence and the law, interview with Jean Collet about Young Lincoln (38 min).
  • Passage, a visual essay by Tag Gallagher (17 min).
  • Cinema lesson by Jean Douchet (17 min).

And some short films by John Ford:

  • When Lincoln Paid (22 min).
  • Straight Shooting (60 min).
  • The Battle of Midway (18 min).
  • December 7th (33 min).
  • Torpedo Squadron (8 min).
  • Sex Hygiene (30 min).

The texts in the 64-page booklet are written by film critics of the Spanish version of "Cahiers du Cinema", but only in Spanish.

It went on sale for € 29.95 (= $ 36), and for several years now only those offered by resellers have been on sale. Still, there is a copy for sale for € 70 (= $ 85).

PS: They also released an edition like this of Cimino's "Heaven's Gate"

eBay or Amazon Spain?

From what I see now, there is a copy for sale on Amazon Spain, and another on eBay Spain; the two for a similar price, about € 70 (=$ 85), but they don't seem come from the same seller; with which I deduce that they are two different copies.

If you need help, or want some clarification on languages and subtitles before buy it, let me know. ;)

Thank you buddy, I didn’t know about this one and can see it’s from Robert Mulligan, will def give it a watch! I love when you don’t recognise any of the cast as it’s harder to have any preconceptions that way (you don’t know what you’ll be in for!).

Watched The Way Home last night after buying it from Kimchi along with a  couple others recently. LOVELY film - it’s about a little boy whose mum is struggling to make ends meet Seoul and so drops him off at his mute gran’s out in the countryside for a couple of months while she tries to find work. They don’t seem to be able to understand each other at all but each go on a personal journey to see things through the other’s eyes. Heartwarming and very funny in places too. Nice one to keep and another lovely job on slipcase and booklet from the Dailly Company. Link here: https://kimchidvd.com/en/22253/v.kimchi

I just went on there to check and it’s TWD 800 ($28.50) for one steelbook and TWD 1150 ($41) for 4 steelbooks. So probably worth getting anything you plan to get at the same time as it works out a lot cheaper per item. I got free shipping at the time (winter promotion).

You will have a great marathon! absolutely great and entertaining.

I really like the movies. They are different, but I had a great time with all of them, each in her own way.

And the TV series, although at first it misleads a little, little by little I was hooked.

Hannibal Lecter is a fascinating character.

PS: In my collectors dreams there is a pack where I can insert all the films, and another pack where I can put the series.

image.jpeg.0e9f617c9a3a4ece94e7da1b2fdc19e5.jpeg

Ex-FBI agent Will Graham is an expert investigator who quit the Bureau after almost losing his life in the process of capturing the elusive Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Years later, after a series of particularly grisly murders, Graham reluctantly agrees to come out of retirement and assist in the mysterious case. But he soon realizes that the best way to catch this killer, known as the Tooth Fairy, is to find a way to get inside the killer's mind. And the closest thing to that would be to probe the mind of another killer who is equally brilliant and twisted. For Graham, that means confronting his past and facing his former nemesis, the now-incarcerated Dr. Lecter.

Willys Wonderland 20 out of 5

Now this for me was a FUN movie . NO it may not be of award winning calibre or set the chatter from the critics ablaze with praise .

YOU know what DO I CARE what people who write reviews for a living think or anyone who can squash a tomato to rate a movie .

I make my own mind up and Nicholas Cage playing a role as a hard working guy . Who is trying to get his  car tyres replaced after a conveniently placed stinger to trap unsuspecting victims into

cleaning up a derelict family  attraction with a hope of re opening and bringing some life back to a small town  was too good to resist.

Then throw in a group of young adults determined to burn Willy's Wonderland to the ground until they realise the Janitor is on night time clean up

Especially when then the animatronics have a life of there own thanks to being possessed by the spirits of a devil worshipping cult members   .

Based on  the game 5 Nights Of Freddie's

I could not get the Birthday song out of my head with Mr Cages moves battering the stuffing out of Willy and CO Spongebob Squarepants Laughing GIF
