UPDATE: not too bad, I like to see Bruce portray a good guy but is really a bad one (although he was not present much in this)… enjoyed Luke Wilson’s character though. 3/5

 

 

A University professor with an insatiable appetite for investigation is asked by some old family friends to investigate a series of hauntings at their antique bookstore. 

 

 

UPDATE: very light fair but it did have good production value but was not quite Midsomer Murders. 3/5

 

This colorful adventure is the screen version of one of the classic tales from “1001 Arabian 
Nights.” It tells the story of Sinbad (Kerwin Mathews) and Princess Parisa (Kathryn Grant). 
When they unexpectedly stop on the island of Colossa on their way to Baghdad, they find 
themselves battling all types of dangers, such as evil magicians, man-eating Cyclopes, fire- 
breathing dragons, and sword-wielding skeletons.

UPDATE: excellent film with superb animation especially for it’s time… what’s not to like a beautiful princess, Sinbad, the genie, an evil magician and fantastical creatures!  5/5

Sinbad and his crew intercept a homunculus carrying a golden tablet. Koura, the creator of the homunculus and practitioner of evil magic, wants the tablet back and pursues Sinbad. Meanwhile Sinbad meets the Vizier who has another part of the interlocking golden map, and they mount a quest across the seas to solve the riddle of the map, accompanied by a slave girl with a mysterious tattoo of an eye on her palm. They encounter strange beasts, tempests, and the dark interference of Koura along the way. It was this film that lead to the casting of Tom Baker in his most iconic role. The 4th Doctor in 'Doctor Who'.

 

 

 

UPDATE: another fantastic Sinbad film with the amazing animation by R.H. And the lovely Caroline Munro. The creatures are great as is the evil magician. Such an enjoyable film that I love to return to watching. 5/5

When he was finally caught on 9 February 1983, Nilsen had murdered a total of fifteen men over a period of five years, making him Britain's most prolific serial killer of the time. 

Des delves into the mind of one of the most emotionally elusive serial killers the world has ever seen. Can we ever really understand the mind of a psychopathic killer? And, if we try, what price do we pay? 

 

 

UPDATE: a slow-moving 3-part series on the prolific serial killer Dennis Nilsen played by David Tennant… it just did not delve into the crime drama I was thinking it would be. 2.5/5

Life for an entrepreneur and his American family begin to take a twisted turn after moving into a English country manor. 

 

 

UPDATE: Production value was good, however story was very depressing about this dysfunctional family who spent beyond their means and it went all over the map for me. 2/5

UPDATE: I really do enjoy my female assassins and this film is no exceptions, EXCEPT it was hard to swallow Jessica as a top-notch assassin against Colin as an  assassin also & I had hoped John Malkovich would have had a little more screen time… not a fan at all of Common yuck! 3.5/5

 

Hoping that self-employment through gig economy can solve their financial woes, a hard-up UK delivery driver and his wife struggling to raise a family end up trapped in the vicious circle of this modern-day form of labour exploitation. 

 

 

UPDATE: Oh my where do I start with this tear-jerker for me. 😢 To see families struggle this way really hits my heart. People are trying to work as hard as they can for their families and then small hurts keep showing up for them. A very good film showing how hard it can be to provide for our families especially if the worker is exploited. 5/5

UPDATE: series 2 was better for me then series 1 was… amazing sad they could not catch this serial rapist of the elderly sooner then 17 yrs. 5/5

 

The gritty telling of the extraordinary true story of Alec Jeffreys discovery of DNA fingerprinting and its first use by Detective Chief Superintendent David Baker in catching a double murderer. 


 

 

UPDATE: interesting to see the 1st DNA findings for cases which track down the killer in this case. 3/5

UPDATE: a fairly strange tale with Christopher Lee as an excommunicated priest into the dark forces… Nastassja Kinski was wonderful to look at and Richard Widmark is utilized as a successful author of occult novels but this was such a mishmash of a plot for me 😔 2.5/5

UPDATE: A very good story with some scenic landscapes including inside the cave…enjoyed the monsters too! 4.5/5

 

In a world where families are limited to one child due to overpopulation, a set of identical septuplets must avoid being put to a long sleep by the government and dangerous infighting while investigating the disappearance of one of their own. 

 

 

UPDATE: so disappointed 😔 as I had high expectations for this one as I’m a fan of Noomi Rapace & her trilogy of TGwtDT… this one was just too tedious, predictable & mind you, just not my ‘cup of tea’ 2/5

Henry Jekyll is a troubled man. His wife died of pneumonia. He wants his sister-in-law, but her father forbids any contact. And his experiments into the dual nature of man have yielded a personality-splitting drug that he has tested on himself, changing him into an uninhibited brute who seeks violent and undignified pleasures. Jekyll quickly becomes addicted to the sordid freedom induced by the drug. He can commit the most enjoyably revolting deeds, then return to his laboratory and use an antidote to change back to his original form, so that his lofty persona remains untarnished. But Jekyll's forbidden affair with his sister-in-law becomes a scandal, and with the growing rage within him, his other self no longer needs the drug for release. As Jekyll loses control of his transformations and his antidote becomes less effective, the police begin to suspect his part in his alter-ego's increasing violence. 

 

 

UPDATE: fantastical TV adaption of the Robert Louis Stevenson’s classical & the period piece was good enough so…3/5

 

Small time hood Gerry Berland, who sponsors illegal dogfighting, tries to intimidate RSPCA officer who witnessed a murder committed by his son. Frost becomes engaged to Christine Moorehead while trying to put crime kingpin Gerry Berland behind bars and trying to unmask a copycat killer. 

 

 

UPDATE: My all-time fav copper that I can always rewatch! 5/5
