@45Caliber well let’s just say that you watched it for the both of us. That’s enough.

It truly is.

Also, I literally just got this in the mail, but knowing it was coming is likely why it was fresh in my mind. As you say, it's a matter of mood and certainly timing. In this case, the anticipation of watching a newly restored release.

@45Caliber Thanks for the recommendation, though. Artwork looks nice too, even if it’s not a Premium. If I may I would like to make my own recommendation for what is considered one of the greatest ever British films The Life And Death Of Colonel Blimp by Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger. A blind Criterion buy and a truly magnificent film with wonderful actors, among which the great Deborah Kerr in a triple role.

@45Caliber I think you will not regret it.

Just a bit of trivia, Powell, who was Scorsese’s friend and mentor and was married to Marty’s editor Thelma Schoonmaker, had his illustrious career destroyed when Peeping Tom was released in 1960 (several months before Psycho). This film was reviled by every film critic at the time but thanks to Scorsese it is now rightly considered a masterpiece. I also find it to be superior to Psycho. Beautifully shot and complex in subject matter.
