  1. Most memorable theater moment for me was the White Zombie club scene. I swear the theater was going to come down from all the bass. Fast forward 19 years & I would try to get the same effect while watching the Blu-ray cranking it to reference volume but never, ever was the same. The UHD comes a lot closer in regards to the audio that's for sure
  2. Thanks to @forenhase this beauty showed today. Thank you for all the effort and time you commit to us all Forenhase Thanks MP!
  3. @ukade2327 that embossed Japanese 2049 steelbook is awesome. So dark, neon and rain-soaked I love it ?
  4. If you ever open the highly coveted BR2049 Japan box please take pix! Great looking collection.
  5. Amazon will just throw it in a large box and send it to you. They must enjoy going through returns 90% of the time. Im going to try that magazine trick as @Grendel suggested. I even thought about ordering $5 worth of bubble wrap or something along with the order LOL.
  6. Very nice price on the retail pricing! Too bad the box set is literally a brown cardboard box ? *edit* I wonder if it will be made to open without actually "opening" the packaging. That would be cool!
  7. Interesting thx for reply! I looked closer and the j-card is underneath the packaging, not like the individual releases? If so yea, I see what your saying.... The individuals just has the j-card loose in a loose bag but yea the box set has to look at it forever if you don't open the entire thing ?
  8. I think its cool because I've never seen a huge j-card like that is all. The two of you that don't like it so far, do you not have 4K?
  9. Definitely a cool touch @ksosk I also like how they used the BIG 4K j-card for the box set ?
  10. @deckard99 yea it really depends on what the studio put out. I watched Ex Machina last night in 4k again and it was a little soft to me. Its native 4K but all the VFX is 2K but most of the movie is VFX Sometimes the studios put out visual gems like Fifth Element or Gladiator which are just packed with grain, detail and nothing is soft though. Another good option for 4K player is the new Sony X700 that has Dolby Vision support. I think its under $200 now. If I lived in Europe I'd want the Panasonic UB9000 or equivalent player (Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support).
  11. It really sucks Oppo is stopping making players err going out of business, not that they were cheap but they had a good hardware region mod that didn't mess with the firmware. Wish I could help more on the region stuff.. All the 4K UHD is region free but I think the regular blu rays aren't.
  12. Yea I have to admit, that design is pretty effin sweet..... I almost want to pull trigger like the rest of you. I got the 4K oring from Best Buy like a year ago though for very cheap. This thread makes me want to go re-watch it
  13. The sound also. The UHD blows me away with the White Zombie club scene or even the Rage track at the end of the film now rocks.
