  1. For someone who was never really there he sure has a strong "presence" in my collection..🤩
  2. Thank you @deckard99, definitely in!! Im pretty sure this movie still holds the record for consecutives views in a weekend. I was 5-6 when released but I remember it like it was yesterday. I had to clean the player's heads multiple times before returning the VHS to the rental-store, it was literally burning!!! classics never die (especially from the 80's), and Goonies never say Die!
  3. Good morning psychos! Bank holiday weekend and sunny weather, not a bad start. only missing one ingredient... Time to work out some pancake magic! have a great one!
  4. @Grendel "Its f***ing cristal, everything else taste like piss!" And the pinky bet, one of the scenes with more tension in the history of cinema 😄 I love how refreshing is watching Tim Roth in such "out of character" role for him, is hilarious! and Banderas too. Definitely, Four rooms deserves an honorable mention in any Tarantino discussion. I have the spanish amaray and tempted to hunt down the german mediabook from last year.
  5. ok, Im going to play safe this time... any better? we have a deal??
  6. Damn you, wifi !! right, time for some serious upgrades... Thank you guys. Im off for a nice meal, cheers!! By the way, OOR!! I feel you, @LeGonze
  7. Good morning everyone! Sweet Sunday today, and my birthday!! dont forget to start your day with energy and sprinkle it with sweetness and kindness all along. wherever you are, whatever you are up to, may the power of pancakes be with you! have a great one psychos!!!
  8. Thank you @Grendel! I will most definitely have a look, Im sure more than one will catch my attention. But for now, is time to listen to Morpheus call. good night!
  9. Probably the only consensus you are going to get about Tarantino is that is rather singular character/director and a heck of a script writer. About his movies, it all boils down to personal taste and preferences. Do you like noir crime films, katanas, westerns... My personal ranking, as a director/writer, is Pulp, reservoir dogs, django, hatetful 8, kill bill, Inglorious basterds, Jackie Brown, death proof, and I havent watch yet Once upon a time (waiting for Manta's). If we consider movies as a writer only, then True Romance is up there in the top 3.
  10. It's his best work (at least for me) but in order to fully understand what it really meant you have to put it (and even better, watch it) in context. If you didnt watch it when it first came out you would be missing that piece of the puzzle. Its not only the focus on masterfully written dialogues, or the sound track (wow), but the story telling and other transgressing elements at that time. If you watch it after Memento, or other more recent movies with similar elements, then It wont have the same impact. Also if you grow up embedded in a pop-culture full of Pulp references then you are at risk of getting desensitized by the time of first viewing. it wasnt his first movie but is such a big step forward in almost every departament after Reservoir Dogs that almost feels like it was, and definitely is his first master piece.
  11. wait, what!!! you havent watch the rest of... ohhh, no. not this time. I remember you, I wont fall for that again... Tarantino you said? Probably not worth your time. But there is this guy with a DeLorean....
  12. Really!!?? 🤩 wait, you like Kevin, right?? well, just in case, i give you to choose. 😆 My brain is now in full swing with all the possibilities! thank you buddy!
  13. Damn it, Reynolds!! I should have learned years ago but dont we all deserve a second chance, @BobaFett1974??? I'll use my gifs wisely from now on...promise...
  14. good idea!! only if I get one of those memberships myself...
  15. let see... according to my calculations you should be free and ready to focus on my request by.... next week!!!! 🙃 seriously now, I didnt expect you to be able to take any more requests any time soon, not even by end of the year, if im honest! It was just my particular way of saying again that your work is amazing. And yes, testing the waters at the same time, why not 😁
  16. Ok, I've seen enough. how long is your waiting list @BobaFett1974? hopefully shorter than my hairdresser's.. Any chance of, say, shortcut..??
  17. Im with you, @DodgyDave! Big fan of Hellboy, big fan of del Toro's unfinished trilogy, big fan of Ron Perlman(obviously!), not particulary big fan of David Harbour, and I really enjoyed the movie. Likewise, I hope for some continuity. First I was upset with the idea of someone playing the role other than Ron. Then I realised I was happy just with the prospect of having the half-demon back on screen. And ultimately I wasnt disappointed, despite (or perhaps thanks to) the negative reviews. Sure, we are missing that great (almost driven) chemistry with Liz and some other elements which made the first movie truly amazing. But I think the reboot does a bunch of good things as well, and more importantly: things that ad to the character/universe of Hellboy, rather than paying to much attention to previous work and becoming a mere, soul-less, tribute (cough, J.J Abrams!, cough). For example, that dichotomy inherent to his half-breed nature is explored further. Then we have Ian McShane. I discovered him at AHS:asylum and had a blast! That man has a presence difficult to describe (and match) on screen. And we have Baba yaga! No, not that one... And of course we have Milla! 😋
  18. I was patiently waiting to post my first MP arrival...Well, its here now! Thank you @blu.steel33 and the rest of MP staff, guardians and members who make all this possible. Here for a long, friendly and prosperous relationship! Next stop, my first MLIFE edition: Benjamin Button. Its worth mentioning that Billy arrived with an interesting (and gorgeous) companion... At nearly half price I could not resist! I know, last season (and particulary last episode) was a let down. But boy, is this edition beautiful! Now I just have to wait for a pill that provides selective memory loss to enjoy the whole series again. Until then, I will enjoy this collector's treat (and its selective episodes 😄).
  19. Amazing, disturbing yet touching drama, much like his supreme Joker. Another spot on performance made in Joaquin. Another torture soul perfectly portrayed by The Master. The perfect antechamber to his more recent and (for many) greatest role, with the permission of Walk the line 🙌
  20. Definitely! and it looks like in the south-west Sol is starting to reclaim his rightfull place the day of his name. Who knows, i might end up like this 😃
  21. Good morning everyone!!! Another sunless sunday here in Brittany! I dont care, I have everything set up and I ain't changing my plans Dont forget to start your day with energy.. and pancakes! have a great one!
  22. I havent watch it yet but really looking forward. Dr strangelove is superb and Sellers as always, hilarious. My english teacher was a fan of him and we used to watch The pink panther series at school. Now that I come to think of it, probably the first movies in original version I've ever watched. I remember not understanding anything but still could not stop laughing with Peter on screen. The universal language of cinema!
  23. many more waiting! I was in the fence with The Lure. cover and synopsis seduce me and I do like musicals, but Im afraid Im more in the classic side. Nevertheless, I'll probably end up listening to the sirens songs-next sale! 😄
