Oh, is it really? I haven't bought many discs, but for now I haven't had any problems. In particular I've found ebay sellers to be the most careful, compared to Amazon which doesn't really have a great approach when it comes to packaging. Maybe it's because of how they handle international shippings... Who knows. Out of curiosity (so that in case I could stay away from the seller), where do you usually buy the damaged discs?

EDIT The company is actually Yamato Video, a minor one. Also, I believe that it would be impossible to have a release in a non English speaking country with English subtitles, as if would damage the market of such English speaking countries. Take Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works as an example: in Italy you can find for around $50 a digipack very similar to the USA's one, which however costs well more than $100.

@extantsrevenge I know it's extremely late for this info, but the title is not actually on the steelbook! That's a 1/4 slip. The steelbook itself is actually really beautiful. You are right however about missing English subtitles: Dynit (the Italian company which distributes most anime in the country) probably hasn't considered a wider audience than the Italian one...

I definitely think I will: home video addiction can only get worse and it's not something that goes away easily. Plus, this forum is like a gold mine! It introduced me to a whole new world.
