It was 6 years ago(I checked my order details,it's been 6 years, damn!!),I saw her on Taobao, full slip with a 36page booklet, the cover is beautiful. But it took me a while to make the decision, because I was new, although I bought some bluray , I know nothing about steelbook, exclusive, etc…… A Korean version bluray of an hollywood film felt pretty weird for me. And it was pre-order, I've never done that before,pre-order a bluray from South Korea. But I looked at her, she's so beautiful .And here she is, my first steelbook and my first exclusive——her, kimchidvd exclusive steelbook, full slipcover. If you just looked at pi…

Hey hey! Just ran into this part of the forum and it made me nostalgic! My first steelbook was in DVD, back in 2007, and it was Transformers. I really loved this steelbook with great embossing and a glossy finish! But since I changed to blu-ray, I have sold all my DVD steelbooks (well I had around 10-20 I believe) so this one is long gone... My first blu-ray steelbook was 2012. With time I like the movie less and less, but I still like the look of the steelbook so I kept it all these years (since 2010). And finally, the steelbook that started it all, when I opened myself to international steelbooks, wa…

My first steelbook was also Marvel Studios' first one as well-The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 4k steelbook. Every movie steelbook since then has always been 4k and I don't see that ever changing since I don't buy regular bluray movies.

The first steelbook I ever saw was the UK version of Wolf of Wall Street, which I had to have. The simplicity of it, along with the American flag was the coolest thing I had seen. But, that was the second steelbook I ever purchased. The first was The Evil Dead Target exclusive. That's when I got hooked.

So after getting into the Blutube community on youtube with my own videos i started watching people collecting steelbooks and ofc i had to go with the flow so ended up buying Dolph Lundgren's "The Punisher" one day and the next day "Gangs of New York" both from Zavvi and now just a little over 2 years later my collection stands little over 400+ steelbooks so yea i got HOOKED big time. "Gangs of New York" came first but i still consider "The Punisher" my first steelbook and (proberly due to fond memorys of it growning up) it's still one of my favorite steelbooks in my collection.

Hellow Fellows, the injection came pretty early, when I started to collect blu-rays in 2008. My first blu-ray wasn't a steelbook tho. However, my first steelbook could be "Leon - The Professional (November 2008)" OR "Fight Club (December 2008)". Im not sure because, I possible have bought Leon at a local store, so I don't have any receipt anymore, but my Amazon Accounts tells me that I've received Fight Club at the RLS-Date in December, for 5€! Lil' interjection: Back then it was possible to send leaflets of local stores throughout Germany to amazon to get a "low price guarantee" and those prices were tremendously low compared to the no…

My first steelbook was from Future Shop here in Canada. Back then, there was this little movie called Iron Man, and when the steelbook came out I thought "this is a fitting movie to have a steel case". I didn't know much about steelbooks back then, I just thought that they were a passing fad. As a matter of fact I thought it wouldn't last because these things were thicker than a regular Blu-ray case and would quickly take up a lot of room. Nonetheless, I bought two copies, thinking it might be collectible someday. A few months later, still thinking this was a fad and I better cash in when I can, I sold both on eBay for the measly amount of $50 (for the co…

I don't recall my very first steelbook I purchased.. but I do know it was before Blu-Ray was out.. it was a DVD Steel. Thanks for the topic.. this makes me want to go home and go through my whole movie collection to reorganize and see exactly what i have. I do have a pretty good recollection of my library but it would be nice to reorganize or just look back at what i have. I do know I own almost every version of Fight Club including the Steelbook DVD which was one of my first. Love that flick! Anyhow.. i shall go though the library this weekend (need to make the time) to find out if i can remember what was the first Steelbook i purchased. Which was the one that started th…

My first steelbook buy was "Gladiator". I liked the movie allot and i couldn't resist buying it. It must have been around the year 2001 ... I still find it a beautiful steelbook. But I did not collect steelbooks yet. That came later. at first i started collecting DVD's and later Blu-rays. Steelbooks were a rarity then in Belgium and if you wanted to buy them you had to search them abroad on the internet. now i am bitten by the steelbook virus. not that i don't buy ordinary Blu-ray's any more but if there is a steelbook version i choose that. I was dependent on Dutch subs in the beginning so buying abroad was not always designated but hey i'm learning Englisch and so now…

So, I believe the first steel I purchased was this Chaplin collection. That's just the way it came and I didn't take any particular notice of it as being a special thing, maybe because the art was somewhat bland. After that, I got this Scarface SB because it was only $5, but again didn't take much notice because the popart is pretty terrible. After that, I didn't specifically set out to purchase a steel until Logan because I was very unimpressed with the standard packaging art and actually preferred the comic art of the steel. This one kicked it off for me and I've since purchased 17 more standard steels (with more preordered) as well as 8 premiums (…

The Force Awakens was my first one, so I am very late to the game. Then I had to upgrade all Star Wars movies to Steelbook, then all Jason Bourne's, Marvel, Dark Knight and a few others along the way. I just bought the Age of Ultron from eBay and it came with a Media Psychos cards inside. Sounds right up my alley, so here I am.

My first steelbook was Termintor Salvation from the legendary Play.com, didn't really know about steelbooks back then as there weren't many about but thought it looked cool. My addiction didn't really start until late 2014 when I joined instagram and saw how many cool steels you could buy which eventually lead to the premium releases on here. It's only money I suppose...

Mine all started with my wife getting me the dark knight rises steelbook. After that I had to recollect my batman films on steelbook. (Halo 2 was my first steelbook in reality, however at the time I did not know or care about steelbooks.) After upgrading my Batmans to steel. (I have always been into movies and used to post a lot on Blu Ray .com where I was involved in some trades and group buys for import blu rays.) After a little while I started to pay more attention to releases starting with Target and Best Buy. Then I started using eBay to import steels that were not released in the states (Batman Forever, Killing Season, etc.) or to pick up releasess that I missed ou…

Hi everyone, A lot of us are passionated collectors of steelbooks and collectibles and therefore I'm sure that you can understand when I wrote "start of my own passion" as it is a passion with all kind of sentiments (e.g. happiness, satisfaction, frustration, irritation) as well as a lot of "in house" discussion about space/presentation and of course money. At the moment I would state that my passion is on a holding position due to several facts (mainly I'm to busy as well as there is no space left ? and the fustration about the inflationary amout of BD steelbook releases all over the world). However the passion is alive but I'm more selective than before. I ca…

Hi Psychos, @pioneeres asked for a Section where you could show your first steelbook what you have purchased. So i wanna start and showing my first one. It was more than a coincidence that this movie was just available as a steelbook. After that purchase i was interested about this kind of package and is there are more like this. So i started to collect Steelbooks and landed on bluray-disc.de and by @Masterblaster.
