I need some advice, I need a region free 3D Blu-ray player for my projector set up. I have a Sony 4K player that I use for my 77 OLED and it works perfectly for every day viewing. But every once in a while I like to throw a 3D movie on the big screen. And I’m noticing a lot of the 3D movies I want are region B. So I guess my question is do I go with a region free 3d player or is it better to just order a region B player from Amazon Germany? Also does brand matter? What’s best? Any advice would be awesome.

Morning all. I purchased my first all region blu player finally. I couldn't stand being unable to amass all those beautiful foreign steelbooks of movies that are either not available in the USA or have super cheap garbage steels. However, I'm curious what any other owners of these players could advise regarding software updates. What I'm asking is I've read that the players often have automatic software updates. And when these happen there is a possibility that the player will no longer be all region. Have any of you run into this? Any advice? I'm concerned of turning my player into a paperweight. Thanks in advance.

I installed the 9.2 surround and now that's it's getting close to D day & I noticed none of my movies are more then 7.2 so I'm wondering how this will work. If my bluray is 7.2 with dolby atmos will that still hit all my speakers or will my sides or rears be left out of the mix? No where on line to get that answer... That I found. In a month or two I will know, so if anyone else has that concern I'll share.

Finally upgrading to a proper 4k tv soon, was interested to see if you guys have any recommendations for good region free 4k bluray players. Also, this might sound kinda dumb, but I've seen bluray players that say 4k but then it says they display 1080p, so they're not true 4k, they only upscale? Preferably looking for something around the $200 or cheaper and prefer small models. (no pun)

Hi Fellow Psychos, This is my own H(ome) T(heatre) thread I started back in 2005 with a living room HT when I lived on my own in an apartment. When I moved to a house in the county I built a HT in the garage and it quickly went out of control (positive ) Now I live in a house with 3 levels of which 1, the top floor is turned into my HT / Man Cave (6mtr/20Ft x 3,4mtr/11Ft). First I was only focussed on equipment, PQ and Audio codecs/formats and tried to make the best cinema I could make with the budget I had. Bought equipment, tested them, sold them or kept them and also important; worked on the ambiance & acoustice of the room. Since a year or 2 I can …

Hi Psycho's, Following a tongue in cheek comment from @nefilim about upgrading my tech, I've been giving it some thought, so looking for all of your input & opinions! If 4K is region free, should I still seek to purchase a multi region player? What is the best 3D & 4K (& potentially multi region) player on the market? Is a curved TV really that much better? Is it a case of the bigger the better when it comes to screen size? What is your preferred manufacturer for a 3D/4K set up? (Sony/Panasonic etc.) With tech constantly improving, Is it more cost efficient to rent rather than purchase? Any other adv…

I have a mitsubishi WD-82738 82'' 3D rear projection tv I want to upgrade. I would like to get something for the new 4k ultra hd but I also want 3d. The tv I have now is active shutter 3d. Was thinking of going with passive 3d. I'm having trouble deciding on which to go with an oled or home projector. Before I got the mitsubishi i had bought one of the led samsung #D tv's. I tried to watch my bloody valentine 3d on it but the image was horrible in dark scenes it looks like someone is shinning a flashlight towards the center of the tv from all 4 corners. Not sure if they have fixed that yet or not. I'm getting ready to have a new man cave and can be total darkness I hav…
